Sartaj to visit India next week

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office said on Thursday that Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz would travel to India next week to attend the Asia-Europe meeting.

At his briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Chaudhry said that though Mr Aziz would visit Delhi to attend a multilateral event, both India and Pakistan were working on the possibility of Mr Aziz’s meeting with the Indian leadership also.

“Pakistan has been committed to the bilateral dialogue process with India to address all outstanding issues. We hope and expect that the Indian side will engage with us in a meaningful dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues,” Mr Chaudhry said.

He said the government wanted to have a peaceful neighbourhood, which included improved relations with India.

The spokesman noted that military contacts over the past few days had eased tensions between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control.

“DGMOs are already in touch through hotline contact. I understand they discussed the matter on Oct 25 and 29 and concurred to normalise the situation along the LoC and the Working Boundary. A sectoral flag meeting was held between Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force along the Working Boundary on Oct 29 and both sides agreed to observe the ceasefire and resolve issues through local-level flag meetings,” he said.

  1. Booooooooooooooooooo!

    Kambaght bando until you realise “Look towards your immediate West” to rebuild an Islamic Khorasan, linked by road rail, greater people to people movement and celebrating our shared history and similarities and increasing trade we will never succeed.

    Turn your cheek away from The East of the Indus… They owe us a gratitude and are because of our forefathers, once our ghulams have a simmering hatred towards us and seek your annihilation.

    We do not need The people of The Ganges and history has shown you that “they” have always needed us and have progressed through innovations from their immediate West through The Great Indus Civilisation which we lovingly call Pakistan today.

    India must accept our terms if She wants to engage us and we seek our lands and oureople / brothers freed.

    Our history of prosperity is linked to our immediate West and North and this is where we must put all our efforts and not to compromise our Eastern border.

    When the great Pakistani once said ;

    Pakistan Manzil Nehin
    Nishan-e-Manzil Hain

    He may he rest in peace and I send my respects and dua for him, he was telling you to turn your back from the East and look towards your North and West.
