Pakistani Chinese celebrates Lunar New Year


A ceremony to celebrate Chinese New Year was held at Hsin Kuang restaurant on Saturday.

A newly appointed Consul General of China in Lahore Long Dingbin participated in the ceremony.

Talking to Pakistan Today, Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations in Pakistan’s Chairman Steve Chih Shin Nian said that the Chinese New Year celebrations were being held at Hsin Kuang restaurant for more than a decade in Lahore.

During the ceremony, traditional Chinese Lion and Dragon dance was performed by Pakistani students. National anthems of both the countries were also played before the festivities depicting strong ties between the two countries.

Moreover, songs and dance performances were also presented by the Chinese and Pakistani people on the occasion. A Chinese female artist sang ‘Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan’ and received huge applause from the audience.
