Laborers still deprived of fair wages in developing countries

LAHORE  – Although International Labor Day is being observed in Pakistan today (Monday) like other parts of the globe, but laborers are still deprived of fair wages and become victims of exploitation in developing countries.

The workers, which were once united under the umbrella of Socialism and Communism, are now divided like Soviet states. They are still compelled to work on less remunerations in coal mines, factories, and other industrial production units.

The importance of labor force cannot be neglected even in this era of global economy, therefore, it is necessary to pay the laborers proper salaries and to implement labor rules.

Rallies and seminars are arranged in memory of Chicago laborers every year on this day, but trade union and workers federation should do practical work to improve the living standards of workers.
