Imran Khan lays foundation stone for mega power project in Kalam

KALAM: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday laid foundation stone for a mega electricity project in Kalam, Swat.

Speaking to the media, Imran Khan said the project will have a power generation capacity of 84MW and will cost Rs.20 billion.

The PTI chief said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has started six electricity projects in the province, for which 72 companies took part in the bidding process.

“No provincial government has launched a project on such a mega scale before,” Khan said.

He further said that corruption in Pakistan is dissuading potential investors from investing in the country.

“Society prospers when corruption is overcome. Investments are not coming in because of corruption,” Khan claimed.

He added that he would eradicate corruption within 90 days if he is elected to lead the country.

Taking aim at the federal government, Khan said the federal government is prospering merely in advertisements.
