Eastern parts of country to receive monsoon showers today: MET

Strong monsoon currents will start to penetrate eastern parts of the country from Saturday. A westerly wave is persisting over upper and central parts of the country and likely to prevail during the next few days.

Rain-thunderstorm (isolated heavy falls) with gusty winds are expected at a number of places in Kashmir, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi , Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Hazara, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions while at scattered places in FATA, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa ,D.G. Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Sibbi, Zhob, Nasirabad divisions, and Gilgit Baltistan in the next 24 hours.

Rain-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) occurred at a number of places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi division, while at scattered places in Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mirpurkhas divisions, Kashmir and at isolated places in Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Hyderabad divisions on Wednesday.
