Airstrikes target Yemen’s rebel-held Defense Ministry


SANAA (AP) – A series of airstrikes from the Saudi-led military coalition targeted Yemen s Defense Ministry building, which is under control of Shiite rebels who control the capital, Sanaa, officials said.

The airstrikes on Tuesday also targeted the homes of military commanders allied with the rebels in the northwest Sanaa district of Hamdan, the officials said.
Overnight, heavy airstrikes targeted rebel positions in the southern cities of Aden and Ataq, and the northern city of Saada a rebel stronghold.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press.
