7 ‘militants’ killed in CTD Sheikhupura operation

SHEIKHUPURA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Sunday to have killed seven terrorists during an operation in Punjab’s Sheikhupura.

An exchange of fire took place between the CTD personnel and militants in Char Chak Risala, during which seven militants  were killed and three were successful in escaping, the CTD informed.

The area has been cordoned off in order to arrest the fled militants, the CTD added.

The killed terrorists belonged to a banned militant outfit, claimed the CTD.

The suspects allegedly had plans to launch terror attacks in Lahore and Sheikhupura.

The CTD said explosive material, hand grenades, a Kalashnikov, three motorcycles and maps of sensitive installations were also recovered in the operation
