31 militants killed as PAF jets pound hideouts in NWA, Khyber

At least 31 suspected terrorists were killed and scores others injured when Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets Wednesday pounded militant hideouts in North Waziristan and Khyber tribal agencies.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 17 terrorists were killed in Mana area of NWA and 14 in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, while several militants were also reported injured in the aerial strikes.

Five compounds of militants were also destroyed in fresh precise aerial strikes in Tirah.

The airstrikes come a day after a suicide blast kills at least five people including a security personnel and injured 54 others in Khyber Agency. The explosion occurred near Khasadar force’s vehicle in Jamrud town.

Earlier this week, an attempted suicide attack on the Political Agent office in Khyber Agency’s Jamrud area left four people including two Khasadar Levies men dead and 56 others injured.
