FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Military officials say a three soldiers based at Fort Bragg were killed in Afghanistan this week.
The Department of Defense said Thursday that 27-year-old Spc. Christopher A. Landis of Independence, Ky., died Feb. 10, on Bagram Airfield from wounds received when the enemy attacked his dismounted patrol with a rocket propelled grenade in Kapisa Province.
Landis was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg.
No further details of his death were available.
Two other soldiers from that battalion died on Wednesday.
Officials say 22-year-old Spc. John Pelham, of Portland, Ore., and Sgt. 1st Class first class Roberto Skelt, of York, Fla., were killed by enemy small arms fire.
