As an average American citizen, I’ve found this site to be intriguing. Please know that as Pakistanis, Afghans and many others, the American people often have little control over what our governments do. We are just as frustrated as you. We appreciate the help and sacrifices your countries have made in the name of good faith. We also would like to have clear foreign policies and help all people around the world who are suffering. Too many people across this world have anger without educated truth or cultural understanding. I am not optimistic, but often it starts with just one. Religious zealots who kill and maim under ANY name across the world are a threat to us all. You are in one region, I in another, but we are all still human.

I wish people every where search for realities, the real problems, their root causes and their humane solutions. Man was created as best of the creation and what man is doing, creating intrigues, plotting wars, atrocities and inhuman acts. There is clossal advancement in all speres of knowledge except for humane thinking.
I wish peaceful solutions are searched and advanced to save humanity and create peace and harmony in this troubled world of today!
Think of smart solutions which get the rogues without inflicting sufferings to innocent people every where in the world. It would be a real service to humanity if one can enable people to realize their potentials!

Dear Brothers please don’t blame the Armed Forces for the Abbotabad debacle. I have been carefully sifting through comments by fellow members and many people are using cheap and insulting language for our Army – THIS IS NOT ON. It really hurts and pains me to see the rhetoric being used. It only serves to further the dangerousd and evil aims of our enemies, mainly America, Israel and India (Their government and military, NOT their people). NO, Kayani is NOT sold out and neither is Pasha or the ISI !! It is the civilian administration of AAZ and YRG etc. that have allowed things to get this far. Many American visa’s were randomly issued by Musharraf and the PPP government, WITHOUT THE PROPER VETTING AND SECURITY PROCEDURE. The army would have cleaned up the mess a long time ago BUT their hands are tied, there is only so much they can do and that’s why the foreign powers have kept them busy with the WOT and the problems in Swat, Buner, Malakand, SWA and NWA. Wake up, don’t you see what is happening ???

The army has been blackmailed by America and that’s why this operation took place. Many things will unfold over the course of the next few weeks. THIS is EXACTLY what the Americans want, to turn the public against the military which makes their job a hell of alot easier. They want to demonise the ISI and our Army by turning the average Pakistani against them. Please for God’s sake support the Army, they need us NOW more than ever. Stand by them and let them know that it’s not a million strong army but an army of 170 million that is behind them
The Armed Forces had no option but to facilitate the American operation in Abbotabad because they were BLACKMAILED BIG TIME. Yes the Army, ISI and government were on board. These are VERY difficult times for Pakistan and they will get harder. What is the solution? We need a new, stringent and aggresive foreign policy. Media, civil society and the youth need to be mobilised and pressure must be put on the government, maybe another long march but one that terminates outside the Presidency, not one that stops halfway there. I TELL YOU NOW, the army will support the people. Not even ONE soldier will stand in the way of an uprising by the populace but they can’t do it themselves.
It is abolutely remarkable to the point of a miracle what the Pakistan Armed Forces have achived in the last 3 or 4 years with regards to classic counter insurgency, rebuilding bridges, roads and schools destroyed in the militancy hit area’s, dealing with the floods on a massive scale, shaping some of Pakistan’s foreign policy, keeping the aggresive Indians at bay, dealing with the Americans and their whims and fancies aswell as being alert on our borders at ALL times AND fighting the WOT – Put your hand on your heart and tell me honestly, could any other military in the world cope with so much and yet pull it off too ??!!
Musharraf and his kleptocracy started the rot (What a BIG bastard in the TRUE sense of the word) and now his proteges are continuing his work. I told everyone before that Musharraf was NOT sincere to Pakistan, he was brought to power for a specific purpose and now it is for ALL to see. Musharraf was no different from a Saddam Hussein, a Hosni Mubarak or a Kadhaffi – BELIEVE ME !! We can see the fruits of his labour and endeavour for 9 long years PLUS 3 of his buddy, Asif Zardari.
PLEASE SUPPORT PAKISTAN’S ARMED FORCES, THEY NEED US DESPERATELY AND IF THEY KNOW WE ARE STANDING BY THEM NO POWER ON EARTH CAN HARM PAKISTAN……
Just look at how China spoke up for Pakistan after the Abbotabad raid, even Iran has reacted and negotiations are on with the Saudi’s. The Russians need to be engaged too, this is a critical juncture. I hope my words don’t fall on deaf ears. Inshallah I know my Pakistani Brothers and sisters well, they will not let down Pakistan.

If america threatened state of pakistan by blackmailing then army/ISI should have exposed america and taken nation into confidence. We cannot continue to embrace this war on terror by lying to our nation and working against the intestests of pakistan.
I dont buy this theory that army was blackmailed. If they were informed about the raid beforehand by USA, then it was extremely silly move on their part to accept such a raid that brought so much criticism of pak at international level and demoralized the nation as well as our troops.

Listen guys, (AOA), but this whole thing goes back to the Mujahideen and the “holy war” in Afghanistan against the USSR. We have to apologize for that war and apologize to Russia directly and try to mend relations with Russia AND keep the US and the west as an ally (just like India has).
We have to understand we are in this mess because unlike India our policy is not expressly pacifist.
It is all good to talk about religion and God but what is right and virtuous is very different. Afghanistan is worse off since we helped attack the USSR. Don’t let Russia send us to China when we go there for their friendship and for their love.
We have to modernize and secularize if possible because all this total immersion in religion and war based on religion vs. non religion is not working. It is hurting our people, please.
In the US for example everyone is convinced / suspicious (at least) that Pakistan was involved in hiding OBL. Just hoping we can show the world convincingly that we are aligned with modernity and democracy and love. Strangely it is working with Iran and Malaysia/Indonesia and Turkey why can’t it work for us?
By the way what Dan is saying is upsetting the American listeners (I don’t know if people recognize that). We cannot subtly threaten or discourage our ALLIES! yaar! We have to say “Listen the Taliban might try to hurt you and us again but don’t worry we are with you till the end”. That is love yaar!, no? Come on we know how to love , don’t we ? or have we forgotten? We cannot say “Ok this is a good opportunity, better get out before its too late and losses increase ; save face and withdraw”. That is not cool yaar. This is clearly upsetting even to the most liberal Americans (the New Yorkers in the video). This is a test of our friendship and we have to show that we can stick by our allies to the end. No matter what the cost.
