Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal tops 100
WASHINGTON: Pakistan has doubled its nuclear weapons stockpile over the past several years, increasing its arsenal to more than 100 deployed weapons, The Washington Post reported late Sunday.
Citing US non-government analysts, the newspaper said that only four years ago, the Pakistani nuclear arsenal was estimated at 30 to 60 weapons. – AFP Photo

“They have been expanding pretty rapidly,” the report quoted David Albright, president of the Institute for Science and International Security, as saying.
Based on recently accelerated production of plutonium and highly enriched uranium, Islamabad may now have an arsenal of up to 110 weapons, Albright said.
As a result, Pakistan has now edged ahead of India, its nuclear-armed rival, The Post noted. India is estimated to have 60 to 100 weapons.

This is good news since it makes the job of covert operations led by america (CIA) and most notably the enemies of Pakistan like india and israel more difficult. We’ve seen the paranoia of india and america and an increase in private security companies and special operations led by the CIA in trying to capture and seize these weapons, when all along The Army have been working on increasing their stockpile hence decreasing the chances of any comprimise to Pakistans nuclear programme. General Tariq Majid even said external forces are nowhere near in capturing Pakistan’s nuclear weapons than when they first started and Pakistan have placed many warheads in key strategic positions all over the country hence not all the weapons can be captured if there was ever a likelihood of this happening. I guess now with this increase in the nuclear arsenal it has probably all but defetaed any designs by the enemies of capturing any weapons and even this plan can now be considered a failiure ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHERS. Pakistan has second strike capabilities, which India doesn’t. Even if Pakistan is bombed completely, Pakistan can still launch its Nukes using this advanced technology. I’m sure its pretty unheard of in India and hence your silly question. Its ok. Now you know, so stop whining.

You are right of course that Pakistan has second strike capability. From some reports not available on the net Pakistan may already be working on third strike capability. Quite how far advanced it is in developing it no one know.
Furthermore, the nuclear arsenal the India has is based on archaic technology. But it can cause destruction non the less due to its nature.
As far as I can work out, in developing its nuclear technology it is looking beyond India as an enemy. Being the only Muslim nation with such arsenal it a sore in the eye of many.
And of course this region is not going to loose its importance for another 100 or so years from now. The Great Game will be played many times over, only the faces will change.

Instead of making yourself proud of nuclear weapons, people of Pakistan should work to safe the country from extreme islamists mullahs. Make a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan not a country where people kill in the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Making Pakistan safe from external threats is more important because that threat is an existential threat. Every country has its extremists. Pakistan has its fair share.
Before we begin to hang our extremists, should we not look at what gave rise to extremism in Pakistan?
Was there such extremism before 9-11?
Was there such extremism before US invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan?
Would a Muslim, no matter how extremist, really bomb places such as the KEBALA?

How many Pakistan has should not be an issue, and random statement like these are meant to put the pressure for ” DO MORE”. america and Russia has around 15000 of them, and they both have not been able to reduce them because of fear of each other. People should not worry about Pakistan and Pakistanis are content with what Pakistan has, but india, us and israel are worried and scared. They can say anything they like and will not be able to do anything about it. Pakistan and 170 million Pakistanis will make more and defend it with all their might. But we are really blessed by Allah (SWT) that stood up form the ashes every tme.
